When did your passion for working with students in education start? 

My passion for working in education and with kids began during my younger elementary years, as I admired my sister and teachers. I developed a strong desire to be like them. They were not only knowledgeable but also passionate about leading others toward success. It wasn’t long before I found myself in a similar position, offering my help and knowledge to my peers and students in lower grades. Their influence, combined with my natural ability to offer help and share knowledge, led me to pursue a path that combines my love for technology with advising and empowering young students.

When did you develop your interest in tech literacy and STEM education? 

Given my passion in technology, I sought to combine the best of both worlds. I realized how much technology is intertwined with our daily lives, and I believe it is critical that the next generation of students learn the skills to navigate and develop this valuable 21st century skills.

Why did you become a Kodely Leader? 

While looking for a company that combined my interests in technology and mentoring, I came across Kodely. I did some additional research into Kodely, and I really admire what they stand for and their mission to take students’ technical skills beyond the classroom and apply them to real-world problems. Kodely provides comprehensive onboarding and training and makes every step of the way in becoming a Kodely Leader seamless!

How has working with Kodely helped you develop? 

Working at various schools in NYC has allowed me to develop my interest in technology and education. It has also allowed me to see the firsthand impact of introducing technology into the lives of K-12 students and the positive changes that can result. Being a part of the Kodely team has allowed me to hone my leadership and communication skills by giving me creative control over lesson plans and class flow. Patience and empathy were important parts of my approach as I guided students through challenges and celebrated their achievements. It is immensely rewarding to see their faces light up when they discover all the possibilities technology offers.
